Hosepipe restrictions across Sussex

A temporary use ban is in place from today (Monday 26 June).

The hosepipe ban is now in place across Sussex and Kent, with South East Water saying restrictions will remain 'until further notice'.

The supplier have claimed that a rise in home working is a contributing factor, with June seeing a 20% rise in demand for drinking water.

The ban, known officially as a Temporary Use Ban means using a hosepipe for domestic reasons such as watering gardens and washing cars are currently not permitted.

There are a number of exceptions, including for animal welfare reasons. Full details on the ban, and exemptions can be found on the South East Water website
