Weekend Sprting Preview

Lewes are getting ready for their first match of the year as they prepare to host 18th in the league Cheshunt, while The Rooks currently sit tenth in the standings after a bad run of form that has seen them claim one win in their last six matches.

Crowborough Athletic are at home against a midtable Wick side, hoping to carry on their good form that currently sees them sit fifth, while AFC Uckfield Town will welcome Copthorne, as Jarvis Brook play at home against Capel.

In the Mid Sussex Leagues, Rotherfield will travel to face fifth place Westfield, while Ridgewood visit Tunbridge Wells 2nd’s, as Plumpton Athletic prepare to host top of their league Scaynes Hill.

Now onto the Cup’s, with Barcombe preparing to face Reigate Priory 2nd’s away from home in the Mowatt's Cup Quarter Finals, while Buxted are in the Somerville Cup at home against the Cuckfield Rangers 2nd’s.

And sticking with the cup’s, Nutley will welcome Preston Manor Royals in the Stratford Cup, while the Tester Cup third round sees Newick travel to face Ansty FC 2nd’s, with Hartfield visiting Hurstpierpoint 2nd’s.

Now over to the women’s football this Sunday, Lewes are back in action and they will visit Watford, with The Rooks sitting two points behind their opponents in seventh, but have played two games more than their opponents.

Moving to the men’s rugby, where Heathfield & Waldron face an important test away from home in second place Sevenoaks 2nd’s, while Crowborough visit a Dover side they trail by a solitary point, with Newick at home against Shoreham 2nd’s.

Finally in the women’s rugby, Sunday’s fixtures sees Heathfield & Waldron visit Horsham, while Uckfield host second in their league Guernsey.
