A busy weekend
Sussex fell to a draw against Glamorgan after an emphatic comeback by the visiting side, extending both side's unbeaten runs to six games, as Steve Smith played his last game for the side after his loan move in January. And in the local leagues, Uckfield Anderida made it two wins from two to start off the season, as they beat Laughton by 15 runs, meanwhile Crowborough are still winless in their opening two games following a heavy defeat by seven wickets to Linden Park’s 3rd XI.
Buxted Park defeated St James's Montefiore CC by 102 runs, Isfield lost against Portslade by 122 runs, and Plumpton & East Chiltington were agonisingly beaten by Haywards Heath with a narrow three run margin.
It was a mixed bag of results for our local sides in the Division 5 East, as Newick won by an empathic eight wicket margin against Heathfield Park, with Barcombe falling to Chiddingly by a 155 run margin, and Fletching losing by five wickets to East Dean & Friston.
And finally for the cricket, Nutley defeated Heathfield Park's 2nd XI by 17 runs, Rotherfield lost to Hailsham by a 123 run margin and Blackboys were beaten by 4 wickets to Tunbridge Wells 4th XI.
Onto the football now, and a 90th winner by Everton’s Hanna Bennison means Brightons Women's team dropped to 10th in the WSL table, ahead of next week's final game of the season against Leicester.
