Uckfield Anderida started their season strongly in the Sussex Cricket League,

The team beat Crowborough by four wickets, earning 166 runs in the process.

Buxted Park were unable to continue their momentum following last season’s promotion in their opening match, losing to Brighton & Hove by 60 runs.

In the other matches, Lewes Priory beat Halisham by two wickets, Isfield won by 18 runs against Eastbourne’s 2nd XI, with Plumpton & East Chiltington defeating St James's Montefiore 2nd XI by 44 runs.

Barcome came out on top against Newick in impressive fashion, winning by seven wickets, meanwhile Fletching went down by 166 runs to Ringmer.

Nutley lost by 67 runs to Alfriston, Rotherfield won by seven wickets against Bexhill’s 3rd XI, and Blackboys beat Burwash Weald by 55 runs.

In County Cricket. Sussex drew with Leicestershire following a final day comeback from the visiting side in the County Championship, leaving Head Coach Paul Farbraces side still unbeaten after their first five games of the season.

Plumpton Raceway celebrated its final meet of the season yesterday, with big wins for Glance At Me and Royaume Uni amongst the seven races on the day, leaving those in attendance looking forward to next season, which will begin in late September.
