Weekend Sporting Preview

Lewes are in league action tomorrow when they welcome 17th in the league Chichester City, with The Rooks currently sitting fifth in the standings after their 2-2 draw with Dulwich Hamlet on Tuesday.

Crowborough Athletic face a big test in their league, with the sixth placed side hosting second in the league Haywards Heath, while AFC Uckfield Town will play at home against Alford, with Jarvis Brook travelling away to face TD Shipley needing a win to keep them in the title hunt.

In the Mid Sussex Leagues, Rotherfield will welcome Battle Town who sit one place above them in the standings, while Ridgewood travel away to face Godstone, as Barcombe visit bottom of their league Club Des Iles who are yet to win in the league.
 

Buxted will play at home against second in their league Preston Manor Royals, as Nutley host Portslade Athletic, with both teams separated by just a point. Lastly in the men’s, Newick will host Hurstpierpoint 2nd’s, while Maresfield Village travel to face Plumpton Athletic, as top of their league Hartfield play at home against Horsted Keynes 2nd’s.

In women’s football on Sunday, Lewes play their last fixture of the year when they make the journey south to face Exeter aiming to make it four league wins on the bounce, while AFC Uckfield Town will visit Infinity.

Now to men’s rugby, fourth in the league Heathfield & Waldron travel away to face the side one place below them in Dover, while sixth placed Crowborough prepare to host Cranbrook.

Lastly in the men’s, Uckfield will be hoping for a return to winning ways when they visit midtable Crawley, while Newick travel away to face the Horsham Barbarians.

And finally in women’s rugby, Sunday’s fixtures will see Heathfield & Waldron host Pulborough, while Uckfield visit bottom of their league Worthing.
