In the weekend’s local football, there’s a big game for Crowborough Athletic

The team take on league champions Sheppey in the final of the Southern Counties East League Cup.

The match is being held at Chatham’s ground on Bank Holiday Monday, with a 1 pm kick-off.

In the Mid Sussex League, Nutley are away tomorrow at Reigate Priory Reserves.

Brighton and Hove Albion continue their push for a top ten finish in the Premier League with a visit to Wolves tomorrow afternoon.

Brighton’s ladies go to Manchester City in the Women’s Super League tomorrow lunchtime. And on Sunday afternoon Lewes’ ladies host table-topping Liverpool in the Championship.

In local cricket, there are pre-season friendlies tomorrow for Uckfield Anderida at Hellingly, while Crowborough are away to Withyham. Elsewhere, Buxted Park visit Seaford in a Twenty20 Cup match.

Sussex’s county team enjoyed a good opening day in their latest Championship match against Durham at Hove yesterday. Sussex bowled out the visitors for 223 and then reached 82 for one in reply.

Uckfield bowls club have matches with local rivals this weekend – they visit Wealden on Sunday, before facing Newick on Bank Holiday Monday.
