Weekend Sporting Preview

AFC Uckfield Town face a stiff test tomorrow afternoon, as they travel to second-in-the-table Newhaven.

Crowborough Athletic, whose win in midweek took them up to eighth, host Peacehaven and Telscombe.

In the Mid Sussex League, Ridgewood take on Oxted and District at the Uckfield All-weather pitch.  Plumpton are at home to Lectern Lights Reserves, while Hartfield visit Oxted and District’s ‘A’ team.

In cup matches, Jarvis Brook go to Westfield, while Rotherfield host Barnham Trojans.  Elsewhere, there are away games this week for Nutley, Fletching, Barcombe and Maresfield.

Following their big win in midweek, Lewes will be hoping for a further boost to their play-off prospects, as they entertain Kingstonian in the Isthmian Premier Division.

High-flying Brighton and Hove are back in Premier League action tomorrow, when they welcome Bournemouth to the Amex Stadium.

In the weekend’s women’s football, Brighton’s ladies team are away at Aston Villa tomorrow, while on Sunday Lewes’s ladies entertain Birmingham City.

In local rugby, Uckfield make the short trip to Lewes tomorrow.  Meanwhile, Crowborough visit neighbours Heathfield and Waldron.
