In the weekend’s local football, there’s a big game for Crowborough Athletic
They hit the Wembley trail again with the visit of Stansfeld in the second round of the national FA Vase. Kick-off at the Crowborough Community Stadium tomorrow is at 3 pm.
AFC Uckfield Town are without a match this weekend, but there’s plenty of action for our local village teams.
In Division Two of the Southern Combination League, table-topping Jarvis Brook are away at Worthing Town.
In the Mid Sussex League, Buxted visit Ditchling. Fletching go to league leaders Eastbourne Rangers Reserves, while Newick visit Lectern Lights and Barcombe are at Burgess Hill Rhinos.
Elsewhere, Uckfield United visit Peacehaven and Telscombe’s third team. Hartfield host FC Railway, and there are away fixtures this week for Rotherfield, Plumpton and Nutley.
Meanwhile, Ridgewood take on Roffey Development in a cup game on the Uckfield All-weather pitch.
In the Isthmian Premier Division, Lewes will be looking to extend their seven-match unbeaten run tomorrow, when they entertain Cray Wanderers.
And in their final match before the World Cup break, Brighton and Hove Albion welcome Aston Villa to the Amex Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Finally, in local rugby, Uckfield host local rivals Burgess Hill. Meanwhile, Crowborough are also at home tomorrow – they face Thanet Wanderers.
