In tomorrow’s local football, both AFC Uckfield Town and Crowborough Athletic face stern tests in the Southern Combination League Premier Division.
Uckfield visit fifth-placed Peacehaven and Telscombe, while Crowborough host leaders Newhaven.
In Division Two of the Southern Combination League, table-topping Jarvis Brook are away at Ferring.
In the Mid Sussex League, Rotherfield host Cuckfield Rangers. Ridgewood visit West Hoathly, while Uckfield United entertain Peacehaven and Telscombe’s third team. Elsewhere, Newick are at home to Nutley, and Hartfield host Athletico Shrublands. And there are away fixtures this week for Buxted, Barcombe and Maresfield. Meanwhile, there are home cup games for Fletching and Plumpton.
Lewes are without a match this weekend. But Lewes’s ladies team are in action on Sunday afternoon in the FA Women’s League Cup, as they host Charlton. In the same competition, Brighton ladies visit Birmingham - also on Sunday.
In the Premier League, Brighton and Hove Albion play their first match for four weeks, as they travel to Liverpool.
In local rugby, Uckfield will be looking to bounce back from their heavy defeat by East Grinstead last week, as they entertain local rivals Lewes. Elsewhere, Crowborough are away to Deal.
