In the weekend’s local cricket, there was a good win for Uckfield Anderida, as they successfully chased down a target of 211 to beat Mayfield’s third team by six wickets.
There was defeat for Crowborough, who lost at table-topping Little Common Ramblers second team by 107 runs.
Meanwhile, Buxted Park went down to an 89-run defeat at home to Bexhill.
There was a close match for league leaders Isfield, who bowled out Bexhill’s second eleven for just 54 and then edged home by two wickets. In another tight finish, Newick lost at home to Ringmer by three wickets.
There were victories for Rotherfield, who beat Polegate and Stone Cross’s seconds by 46 runs, and for Nutley, who remain top-of-the-table after a five-wicket win at Herstmonceux’s second team.
Elsewhere, there were defeats for Barcombe, Fletching, Plumpton and East Chiltington and Blackboys.
Finally, the Sussex Sharks’ hopes of reaching the knockout stages of the T20 Blast are now hanging by a thread after a fifth successive defeat yesterday. The Sharks were beaten by four wickets by Glamorgan in Cardiff.
