Saturday was a disappointing afternoon for Uckfield Anderida

The team crashed to 62 all out at Dicker to lose by 138 runs. There was defeat too for Crowborough, who were beaten by St Peters of Brighton’s third team by five wickets.

Elsewhere in the Sussex Cricket League, Buxted Park got back to winning ways with a close 15-run victory at Glynde and Beddingham.  

Isfield moved up to second place in their division with a 67-run victory over East Dean and Friston, while Newick continued their good run with a four-wicket win at Chiddingly.  

Barcombe beat Plumpton and East Chiltington by 60 runs.  And there were also wins for Fletching, who beat Ditchling by 80 runs, and for Blackboys, who remain top-of-the-table after a 124-run win over Mayfield’s fourth team.

Rotherfield lost at Bexhill’s third team by 81 runs.Sussex’s county side reached 245 for seven at the close of the first day’s play against Glamorgan at Cardiff yesterday.
