Wealden District Council is holding an event to celebrate the Wealden Community Lottery’s achievement over the last 12 months.
The event will be hosted in Hailsham on Tuesday 19 March 2024, between 2pm and 4pm, and will be open to local organisations in Wealden.
The event will focus on celebrating the lottery’s and organisations’ achievements, promote how the Community Lottery works, the benefits it can have for local organisations, share best practise on how to maximise monthly unrestricted funds raised through the lottery and is an opportunity to network with local partners and organisations.
The Wealden Community Lottery was launched last March with the aim to help local good causes raise funds within the community, for the community.
In the first nine months, the lottery had 40 draws, 968 players playing weekly, 1,942 tickets purchased per week, more than 81 local organisations signed up and £40,655.60 has been raised for good causes and the central fund combined. Good causes and the central fund are on track to raise £61,838.40 per annum.
Residents who are a part of a local organisation, charity group, sports club, Residents’ Association, scout or girl guides, PTA, or other community-based groups in Wealden are invited to attend the event and learn more about the Wealden Community Lottery and the benefits it offers.
“There have been many positive changes made by organisations which are a part of the lottery, and I would encourage any organisation, charity, or not-for-profit organisation to come along and see for themselves how the lottery could help them. There will be an opportunity for attendees to network with local partners and organisations.”
Please note, due to limited spaces each organisation can only request three tickets. To find out more about the Wealden Community Lottery, go to www.wealdencommunitylottery.co.uk or to book your place at the event, please email communitygrants@wealden.gov.uk.
