Stagecoach is implementing a significant set of changes to bus routes and timetables across Eastbourne, effective from Sunday 12 April 2026.
hese adjustments follow a reduction in central funding available to East Sussex County Council and are designed to improve service reliability and punctuality in the face of local traffic congestion.
Key Network Changes (Effective 12 April 2026)
The updates focus on minor timetable adjustments for reliability, with reduced or withdrawn evening and Sunday services on some routes due to low usage.
- Routes 1/1A/1B: Minor timetable tweaks for improved reliability.
- Routes 3/3A (Meads): Evening service withdrawn.
- Routes 5/5A/5B & 6/6A (Langney): Route 5A replaced by 52; 5B/6/6A evening services after 19:00 withdrawn.
- Route 7 (Winkney Farm): Reduced frequency.
- Routes 51, 52 & 53: Timetable changes with some evening services withdrawn and route adjustments to 51 and 52.
- Routes 57/58/59: Increased running time for better reliability.
- Route 99/99E: Frequency increased to every 20 minutes.
- The Link: Most daytime short journeys removed.
