Proposed Move For Maresfield Post Office

Post Office is proposing to relocate Maresfield Post Office to a new location - Maresfield Village Stores, 1 Central Parade, High Street, TN22 2EN.

The current postmaster 30 High Street, Maresfield, TN22 2EH, has resigned and the premises would be withdrawn for Post Office use.

However, we are pleased to inform you that a new operator has been appointed, who has identified an alternative location to operate Maresfield Post Office.

There would be a Post Office serving point at the retail counter of the convenience store and A similar range of products and services would still be available. There would be new opening hours of Monday to Saturday: 8am – 5.30pm offering 51 hours of Post Office service a week. This would be an extra 19 hours and 30 minutes of Post Office service a week including Saturday afternoon, earlier opening and later closing for the convenience of customers.

Currently, there is a step at the entrance to the proposed premises, however, the proposed new operator would provide a portable ramp to help customers with mobility issues or wheelchair users, get into the store. There would be a clearly visible sign at the front of the premises and a bell would be installed for customers to ring for assistance. Both the bell and the sign would be accessible to wheelchair users.

Consultation is now open with the opportunity to give feedback on the move and access into and within the store will close on 19 April. Customers can share their views during the consultation online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 243907.
