Police seized a vehicle in Crowborough on the night of Saturday, 25 July 2026, after routine checks revealed it was being driven with no valid MOT and no insurance.

Incident Details

The Stop: Patrolling officers flagged the vehicle down after automated or proactive background database checks highlighted the discrepancies.
The Outcome: The vehicle was immediately taken off the road and legally seized by the police.
Police Warning: Following the seizure, a Sussex Police spokesperson urged all motorists to verify their legal documentation before setting off. Failing to ensure a vehicle has a valid MOT and insurance policy can result in immediate loss of the vehicle, heavy fines, driving license penalty points, or direct prosecution.

The police have stated that they will maintain proactive patrols across the area to target illegal vehicles and improve road safety.
