In a pre-planned operation on Tuesday, 24 March 2026, counter-terrorism police arrested three more men in connection with the October 2024 arson attack at Peacehaven Mosque.
Details of the New Arrests:-
Conducted by CTPSE and Sussex Police, the operation saw three men apprehended on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson, malicious communications, and encouraging or assisting a crime. These individuals, arrested in Eastbourne, Brighton, and Saltdean, have been released on bail until 23 June 2026.
Background of the Investigation:-
The inquiry relates to a 4 October 2024 fire on Phyllis Avenue, where two people escaped injury despite damage to the mosque. Previously, Ricky Ryder and Jack Slowey were charged with arson with intent to endanger life, and a 70-year-old man remains on bail in connection with the ongoing investigation.
