Mims Davies MP meets with Metro Bus and Brighton & Hove Buses in Parliament

This Parliamentary event brought together leadership teams from Brighton & Hove Buses and Metrobus facilitate discussions with Members of Parliament.

This provided Mims with the perfect opportunity to raise issues brought to her by constituents here in East Grinstead, Uckfield, and the villages.

Mims also discussed the work of the company in EGU and heard more about their plans for the bus network across Brighton & Hove, Sussex, Surrey, and Kent which could affect residents of hers.

During the last Conservative Government, Mims was pleased to welcome the £80 million that was unlocked to improve and protect bus services for residents who really rely on them.

This additional funding was on top what had been provided, reaching a total of £19,606,396 which was announced as part of a £300 million bus package by the Secretary of State for Transport at the time; and can be used to maintain existing service levels or to deliver targeted initiatives to encourage bus use.

Mims also welcomed during the last Government that residents were able to continue benefitting from the £2 bus fare cap with the extension, enabling them to travel more cheaply to visit friends, family, and travel locally.
