On January 7, 2026, a man was charged following a firearms incident at Maresfield Services in Uckfield that occurred the previous evening.
The suspect is Johnjoe Doyle, 23, of Nevil Road, Uckfield.
At approximately 11:00 PM on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, police received reports of a person in possession of a firearm at the service station. Armed response officers were deployed to the area as a precaution.
Following the identification of a vehicle, police attended a linked address where they arrested Doyle. A gas-powered BB revolver was recovered and seized from the property.
Doyle was charged with possessing an air weapon in a public place.
He has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court on February 13, 2026
