Elsewhere, one goal from super sub Tom Pearson saw Crowborough Athletic secure another important victory in their playoff fight by beating Roffey 1-0, while AFC Uckfield Town’s first match at The Oaks in 2025 went to plan as they defeated Storrington 2-0, as Jarvis Brook secured a commanding 4-0 win against Southwater.
In the Mid Sussex Leagues, Ridgewood narrowly lost 2-1 against Holland Sports, with Barcombe being defeated 3-0 by Newhaven 2nd’s, as Buxted earned a 3-1 win away against Willingdon Athletic.
Lastly in the men’s, Nutley drew 3-3 with Polegate Town 2nd’s, while Plumpton Athletic came out on top in their clash with Maresfield Village, winning 2-1, as Hartfield made it 13 games unbeaten by beating Hurstpierpoint 3rd’s 3-0, extending their lead in the table up to five points, and with games in hand on the chasing pack.
In the men's rugby, Heathfield & Waldron fell to a narrow 25-22 defeat at home against Ashford, as they now find themselves in sixth, six points behind Crowborough in fourth.
Finally in the women’s rugby, Uckfield suffered a heavy 39-0 defeat away against third in the league Guernsey.
