Sussex will be aiming to maintain their strong return to Division 1 of the County Championship, when they travel away to face Somerset, who sit ninth in the table after winning one of their opening five games, while Paul Farbrace’s side currently find themselves in third.

In team news, Sean Hunt is still out, but Danny Lamb returns to the team after missing the last month of action, while Nathan McAndrew is also back for the team, with last week’s impressive rdebutant James Hayes keeping his spot in the 14 man squad.

Staying with county cricket now, where Sussex Women secured their victory against Kent in the One Day Cup by 42 runs, with the Sharks relying on a strong at bat performance to secure the win, and that means they now find themselves in sixth after the opening four games.

Looking at local cricket now, Crowborough are at home against St Peters 3rd’s, as Uckfield Anderida host Buxted Park 3rd’s, while Buxted Park are away against St James Montefiore.

Elsewhere, Heathfield Park will welcome Bexhill, while Isfield visit Hailsham 2nd’s, as Newick travel to face Ringmer, with Fletching away to St Peter’s 2nd’s.

Meanwhile, Barcombe will travel to face Edenbridge, with Plumpton & East Chiltington at home against Hurstpierpoint, as Rotherfield look to welcome Hellingly.

Lastly for the cricket, Nutley will travel to play Herstmonceux 2nd’s, as Blackboys host Heathfield Park 2nd’s, while Hadlow Down visit Henfield 3rd’s.

One last football fixture for our teams this season, with Buxted playing at home against league winners BN Dons, knowing that they can still finish in second if other results go their way.

And finally in the bowls, Saturday’s fixtures sees Crowborough face Westerham, with Uckfield away to St Francis, while on Sunday our two teams will go against each other, as Uckfield prepare to host their clash in the Horam League.
