The middle weekend of Artwave is approaching, heralding a bonanza of creativity for art lovers to enjoy at venues across Lewes district.
This year is not only the biggest ever Artwave, featuring artwork from almost 900 creatives at 159 free exhibitions, it marks a return to the opening of artists' homes following the lifting of pandemic restrictions.
One of the focal points is set to be the Lewes Trail, showcasing a town centre that is buzzing with exhibitions.
Almost half of the exhibitions in Lewes are being hosted by businesses including a coffee roaster, craft breweries, co-working spaces and many of the town's independent retailers.
Pharmacie Coffee Roasters at Cliffe Industrial Estate is showing paintings and photographs by three artists. Café manager Vicky White said: "Taking part in Artwave is a really positive experience and a great way for us, as a company, to get involved in the local community."
Elsewhere, a pop-up gallery space on the High Street will host a weekly changing exhibition of drawing, painting, sculpture and moving images.
And a selection of community-run exhibitions are likely to prove popular, showing the artwork of art and photography groups, students, artists with disabilities are more.
Visitors can also opt to follow trails around Seaford, Newhaven and Peacehaven (Haven Trail) or a route through rural district villages.
