Following a collision on the A27 near Wilmington, sadly a man has died.
On Tuesday, September 30, just before 11pm, a serious collision between two vehicles was reported to police.
Emergency services attended, and sadly the driver of one car, an 18-year-old man from Heathfield, was confirmed to have died. His next of kin have been informed, and our thoughts are with them at this time.
A further 26-year-old man from Eastbourne, the driver of the second car, sustained a serious injury and remains in hospital.
The A27 has reopened following an earlier closure between Polegate and the Drusillas roundabout.
An investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing, and we ask anyone with information or who has relevant dash cam footage, to make a report to police.
You can do this online, or by calling 101 quoting Operation Medford.
