Hosepipe ban lifted across the county

The hosepipe ban which has been in place since 12 August has now been lifted by South East Water.

The ban, which affected 1.4 million people across Sussex and Kent, was introduced when 2022 saw the driest start to a summer since 1976.

Thanks to the restrictions being observed, and heavy rainfall over the last few months, resources have recovered and South East Water have announced the restriction is now lifted.

By 20 November, the area had seen close to two months of rainfall in three weeks.
