Plans have been submitted to Wealden District Council

The former care facility was demolished after catching fire.

The proposal includes building a new 77 bed care home on Lewes Road, which will cater for clients with dementia, along with other care needs.

Ridgewood Manor was a well established care home that suffered a major fire back in 2017 and was demolished. The site ahs been vacant since. Included in the new plans are a coffee bar, cinema, hairdressers, spa, children's room, gym and rehab centre along with lounges and dining areas.

All bedrooms are designed for safety and accessibility, with en-suite wet room bathrooms.

The layout of the proposed care home is planned to be flexible, with the accommodation spread over four floors.

The plans can be viewed on the Wealden District Council planning portal using the reference WD/2025/2368/MAJ.
