The hugely popular Prince Albert in Old Town could soon be a veterinary surgery
The pub, which closed in 2024, was sold to new owners in April 2025.
The conversion would include ‘internal and minor external alterations to the existing building’ as well as a single storey extension to the rear of the building.
The design of the new veterinary surgery makes use of the open plan spaces of the existing public house. The side to the west will become the waiting area with reception hub, and will retain one of the fireplaces.
The side to the east will become the surgical area, with glass partitions to preserve the open plan feel.
