A fire broke out this morning, Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at The Hare & Hounds pub in Framfield, East Sussex
Emergency Response: East Sussex Fire and Rescue was called to the scene in The Street, Framfield
, at approximately 07:00 GMT after reports of a large amount of smoke originating from the chimney.
Operations: Four fire engines attended the scene. Firefighters used breathing apparatus, hose reel jets, and thermal imaging cameras to tackle the blaze.
Current Status: All firefighting operations were completed by 10:20 GMT. The incident has been scaled down, though residents were earlier advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke.
