Eastbourne Borough Council’s Cabinet has approved a new seafront strategy that offers a long-term plan to create a vibrant, safe, inclusive and sustainable seafront that reflects the values and aspirations of the community.
Developed following extensive consultation with over 2,000 residents, businesses, and visitors, the strategy identifies five key themes: Heritage, Culture, Tourism, Health and Leisure, and Safety and Inclusivity.
The strategy proposes a phased approach to delivery, introducing distinct zones of activity across the seafront to improve accessibility, enhance public spaces, and unlock new economic opportunities. It will also guide future investment, contribute to coastal defence planning, and support Eastbourne’s ambition to be a year-round destination.
