Grand Parade on the Eastbourne seafront has fully reopened to traffic following months of closure for the Eastbourne Improvement Scheme.
The road was initially closed in February 2025 to facilitate the pedestrianisation of Victoria Place (Terminus Road).
Although one lane was briefly reopened in April 2025 to support local traders during the summer, the full route is now accessible to vehicles.
Current Status & Minor Works
- Road Traffic: Grand Parade is open to traffic.
- Pedestrians: New paving has been completed on the promenade, and fencing has been removed.
- Finishing Touches: Minor works continue around lighting columns and outside Harry Ramsdens, though these do not affect road access.
- Surrounding Closures: While Grand Parade is open, nearby Seaside Road and Trinity Trees remain closed for ongoing investigations.
