Power has been restored and services have resumed at Eastbourne District General Hospital (DGH) following a power outage on Tuesday, January 6, 202
The East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust confirmed the following details regarding the incident:
Power was fully restored to all areas of the hospital by late morning on January 6.
While the emergency department remained open throughout the incident, the Trust urged residents to only attend for serious or life-threatening emergencies due to increased pressure on services caused by the outage.
Patients with non-urgent needs were advised to use NHS 111, contact their GP, or visit local pharmacies.
The Trust also addressed "false information" circulating on social media and clarified that the hospital remained open despite the disruption.
