The £40m surgical hub in Eastbourne is set to transform day surgery services, offering faster access and an improved patient experience, the trust says.
The purpose-built unit is situated at Eastbourne District General Hospital and includes four operating theatres, a pre-assessment area and recovery room.
East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust have said the unit will initially operate five days a week.
The hub has been funded by NHS England, NHS Sussex and the Friends of Eastbourne Hospital.
