A large blaze was attended on Lewes Road on Saturday afternoon.
Fire crews from Uckfield, Lewes, Eastbourne, Brighton and Pevensey attended the reports of a fire in the open near woodland.
The incident had been scaled down by the evening.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, with an investigation set to take place in due course.
