Following the Lead Member for Resources & Climate Change meeting, East Sussex County Council have provided the following statement.
East Sussex County Council, as freeholder of Uckfield Leisure Centre, has agreed to offer an extended lease to Wealden District Council so that the site may continue to be used as a swimming pool and other community leisure facilities.
The 19-year lease would also enable students at Uckfield Community College to continue using the centre as part of their education.
Officers from both councils have worked with partners over many months to finalise the arrangement.
