Chailey Classic & Vintage Tractor Club is a local group of enthusiasts actively involved in social engagements revolving around vintage tractors and machinery.
Recent activities have included an excursion into Northern France sailing from Newhaven to Dieppe on vintage tractors and the club has recently been profiled at Christmas on BBC’s Celebrity Escape to the Country.
The club’s designated charity is St Peter & St James Hospice (Wivelsfield Green) and during the club’s spring tractor run on Saturday 22nd March presented a cheque to the Hospice in the sum of £1500.00 from money raised via charitable initiatives over the previous year, including money raised in cooperation with The Sloop Inn, organised by Kate Hawes.
CTC Chairman, Howard Venters said “We are delighted to make this presentation to the Hospice on behalf of the Club. The Hospice do a wonderful job in the face of ever rising costs and we hope this contribution will at least go some way to helping and contributing to the ever-increasing costs of running such an important operation so vital to many people within our community.”
Chailey Tractor Club remains active with seasonal tractor runs and social events throughout the year and can be contacted via their website (www.chaileytractorclub.org) or on social media (www.facebook.com/chaileytractorclub)
