What's happening in local sport this weekend?
Sussex Cricket has announced that Jofra Archer has signed a one year extension at the club, with the England international having first joined the club in 2016 and has taken over 190 wickets since his debut.
In football, Eastbourne Borough will head west to Devon and visit fourth in the league Torquay United.
Elsewhere, Lewes will welcome third in the league Chatham Town to the Dripping Pan, as Crowborough Athletic travel to face Mersham.
Speaking of Lewes, they have announced two returning faces to the playing squad in Bobby Unwin and Alfie Allen, with both having played for The Rooks last season under Craig Nelson, and have returned to the club following Nelson’s return as manager.
In the Southern Combinations League, AFC Uckfield Town face a great chance for points as they play away to Loxwood, while Jarvis Brook play in the third round of the Peter Bentley Cup, as they welcome Selsey.
Over to the Mid Sussex Leagues, Rotherfield will visit Punnetts Town, as Barcombe aim to stay top of their league when they play away to Seaford Town 2nd’s, with Ridgewood hosting Ansty FC in the Stratford Cup.
Meanwhile, it’s a top two clash for Nutley, as the current league leaders prepare to host BN Dons 2nd’s, with two points separating the sides, while Newick look to visit the Soverign Saints 2nd’s.
Lastly in the mens, more cup action will see Hartfield welcome Dormansland Rockets in the Malins Cup, while Maresfield Village host Ashurst Wood 2nd’s in the Tester Cup.
Now in women’s football on Sunday, Lewes are in the second round of the FA Women’s Cup and will visit Cheltenham Town, who sit level on points with The Rooks in their league.
Over to the men’s rugby, Crowborough are at home to Dover, as Heathfield & Waldron host league leading Old Elthamians, while Uckfield travel to face Haywards Heath 2nd’s.
Finally in women’s rugby, Sunday’s fixtures will see Heathfield & Waldron visit a midtable Old Alleynian, as Uckfield play their last game of 2025 away to East Grinstead.
