
A look at what's happening locally this weekend
Lewes will be looking to bounce back from late heartbreak last time out when they visit title hopefuls Billericay Town, who sit in second, while The Rooks currently see themselves in 13th after a mixed run of form that has seen them draw three of their last five matches.
Elsewhere, Crowborough Athletic can continue their rise up the table when they travel to face Shoreham, while AFC Uckfield Town's game at The Oaks against Worthing United is off due to a water-logged pitch.
In the Mid Sussex Leagues, Rotherfield are visiting third in the league Ringmer AFC, as Ridgewood face Polegate Town at home in the Montgomery Cup quarter finals, while Barcombe play away to the Cuckfield Rangers 2nd’s.
Meanwhile, Buxted will travel to face Horsted Keynes, with Plumpton Athletic facing a mid table Lindfield 3rd’s side at home, as Hartfield aim to extend their five point lead at the top of their league when they welcome Barcombe 2nd’s.
Lastly in the men’s, top of their league Newick aim to remain in pole position when they host Hurstpierpoint 2nd’s, while Maresfield Village trail Newick by just a point in second place but have played more games, so need to beat Cuckfield Town 2nd’s away from home to stay in the title fight.
Now to women’s football tomorrow,r where Lewes will play at home against Oxford United, who sit two points above The Rooks in fifth but have played three less games.
Over to the men’s rugby now, Heathfield & Waldron are away against Deal & Betteshanger, while Crowborough visit eighth place Park House, as Uckfield in the Sussex Leagues prepare to host Worthing 3rd’s looking to extend their ten point lead in the standings.
Finally in women’s rugby, Uckfield are at home against fourth place Guernsey on Sunday, looking to claim back to back wins for the first time this season.
