Elsewhere, Lewes lost 3-0 against Ramsgate, while Crowborough Athletic were held to a 0-0 draw with Herne Bay, as Jarvis Brook suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat to Dorking Wanderers 2nd’s.
In the Mid Sussex Leagues, Rotherfield left with a point after their 2-2 tie with Hollington United, while in the cups, Barcombe exited the Stratford Cup on penalties against Jarvis Brook 2nd’s, as Ridgewood comfortably progressed in the Mid Sussex Junior Challenge Cup after thrashing Portslade Athletic 8-3.
Back to the league action, Buxted came out on top in an entertaining 5-3 clash with Ringmer AFC 3rd’s, as Nutley dropped down to second after losing 2-0 to the new league leaders BN Dons 2nd’s, while Newick fell to a 2-1 defeat against Montpellier Villa.
Lastly in the mens, Hartfield lost 3-0 to Marle Park Wanderers, while there was two exits in the Tester Cup, as Maresfield Village fell to a 2-1 loss versus Ditchling, with Plumpton Athletic losing to Hurstpierpoint 2nd’s 4-3.
Over to women’s football, Lewes started their defence of the Sussex Women’s Challenge Cup with an emphatic 11-0 victory over Montpellier Villa, with no less than three players grabbing braces, and Liv Carptener bagging a hattrick.
Finally in men’s rugby, Heathfield & Waldron secured a narrow 25-22 win against Ashford, while Crowborough fell to a 26-15 defeat against Charlton Park, as Uckfield claimed a convincing 39-7 victory over the Horsham Barbarians to move up into fourth.
