In the Southern Combinations, AFC Uckfield Town were unable to complete their comeback as they lost 2-1 to Arundel, while Jarvis Brook fell to a 3-0 defeat versus second in the league Billinghurst.
Over to the Mid Sussex Leagues, Rotherfield beat an inform Frenches Athletic 4-2, as Ridgewood walked away with a point after their 4-4 draw with Willingdon Athletic, while Barcombe claimed a close 1-0 victory over Ringmer AFC 3rd’s.
Meanwhile, Buxted fell to a 3-0 loss against Rotherfield 2nd’s, with Newick claiming their first win of the season as they beat Cuckfield Town 2nd’s 2-0, while Nutley exited the Stratford Cup after a tight 2-1 loss to Ansty FC.
Lastly in the men’s, Maresfield Village progressed in the Tester Cup after beating Hurstpierpoint 3rd’s 4-1, with Hartfield also progrssing courtesy of their 4-0 win over Warlingham 2nd’s, as Plumpton Athletic similarly won in the cup, after their close 3-2 victory over Ringmer AFC 4th’s.
Over to women’s football, Lewes completed their comeback against Hashtag United to win 4-1 and progress into the second round of the FA WNL Cup, as Eastbourne Borough continued their perfect start to the league thanks to their 1-0 win against Hastings.
Now in the men’s rugby, Heathfield & Waldron continued their fine start to the season by beating Dover 31-26, while Crowborough lost 21-12 to Ashford.
Finally, Uckfield earned a strong 45-19 victory against Hellingly, while Newick fell to a 57-17 defeat against Barns Green
