In the Southern Combinations Leagues, AFC Uckfield Town lost to Oakwood 3-1, while Jarvis Brook beat Copthorne 2-1 to now find themselves sixth in the standings.
Over to the Mid Sussex Leagues, Rotherfield are through in Sussex Intermediate Challenge Cup after their 3-1 victory against Bosham, as Ridgewood saw their unbeaten run ended by Buxted, losing 5-2 but remain top of their league.
Meanwhile, Nutley earned a commanding 4-0 victory over Montpellier Villa to climb upto third, with Hartfield progressing in the Malins Cup after their own 4-0 win, against Cuckfield Town Development.
Lastly in the men’s, Maresfield Village fell to a close 2-1 loss against Keymer & Hassocks, as Plumpton Athletic beat Marle Park Wanderers 2-1 to record their first win of the league season.
Now in women’s football, Lewes got back to winning ways with a statement 4-0 win against Cardiff City, recovering well to end their three game winless streak.
Over to the rugby, Heathfield & Waldron fell to their first loss of the season in a tight 22-15 clash with Deal & Betteshanger, while Crowborough won by an even tighter margin in their 12-10 victory over Park House.
Finally, Uckfield made it two league wins on the bounce by beating the Horsham Barbarians 39-24, as Newick lost to Littlehampton 40-0.
