Local organisations from Wealden, Lewes and Eastbourne were celebrated at Uckfield Civic Centre.
The event included a community marketplace, with stalls from various organisations giving an opportunity for networking.
Rotherfield St. Martin, Artytime and South Brockwells Farm received awards to recognise their achievements within the community. These were presented by Wealden District Council’s chair, Councillor Christina Coleman.
Councillor Kelvin Williams, Alliance for Wealden (Liberal Democrat), and lead councillor for Public Health and Asset Management, said, “3VA has helped many organisations as part of their Service Level Agreement and the support they give to local organisations is very visible in our community. It is also important to celebrate other voluntary organisations within Wealden like 3VA that are also changing lives.”
Wealden District Council supports 3VA through Wealden Community Grants Service Level Agreements. £18,500 is awarded per annum between 2022-2025 to provide infrastructure support across the third sector, including strengthening groups and networks, volunteering, town and parish councils, training and governance.
