The Uckfield Music Club have added a series of fascinating extra events to their summer season of concerts. The final one for this year features string player Ellie Blackshaw exploring the lesser known member of the string family, the viola. Is it a big violin or a small viola? Well, Ellie will be playing one of the most famous pieces written for the cello, JS Bach's sublime Cello Suite no 1, but also works especially written for the viola , including the world premiere of a new work by Julian Broughton.
